Sochetta is a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association. She completed her Masters of Counselling and has 4 years of psychological study.
Sochetta works with young people and adults to help support them with their overall well-being. Her approach involves Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Solution or Strength-based approaches. Concerns around stress, depression, and anxiety are the main areas she works on.
Her experience working in a combined school allows her to transfer her skills and knowledge of working with school-aged children and adolescents, with concerns related to educational (school refusal, school disengagement, learning supports) and personal aspects (friendship issues, family concerns, social and emotional concerns, self-confidence/self-esteem, self-harm).
With adults, Sochetta has experience in working with concerns around motivation, overthinking, interpersonal relationship (family and friends) concerns, social anxiety, low/flat feelings, procrastination, and goal setting. She has also experienced working with adults seeking help with gambling problems and addictions.
Sochetta always aims to provide a safe space for every individual to speak and sort through their concerns in a respectful and non-judgemental manner. She always strives to provide the best support she can give to any and all unique individuals, working together to achieve overall improved well-being!
