Mel is a Provisional Psychologist and has completed her undergraduate degree in Psychological Science at Deakin University and completed GDPA at Monash University. Prior to working as a Psychologist, Mel worked as Senior Therapist for several years and worked in teams with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, genetic disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, and behavioural issues.
Mel is passionate about helping and assisting people and speaks fluent English and Turkish. Her professional expertise and interest are inclusive of working with individuals with depression, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, OCD, sleep problems, parental education, confidence problems, low self-esteem, relationship problems, and communication issues. Additionally, Mel has experience working with a range of age groups, inclusive from children to late adulthood.
Mel implements a range of evidence based therapeutic approaches which includes and is not limited to, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person Centred Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Behavioural Interventions, Play Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).
